Labiaplasty
A labia correction may be necessary if changes in the labia have occurred as a result of hormonal fluctuations, tissue weakness, genetic factors or the natural aging process.
As annoying large or too long inner labia and flaccid outer labia are felt, as they are visible in the outer genital area. With significant disability and pain, these changes can also affect intercourse and the performance of certain sports (e.g., horseback riding, cycling). Many women suffer from the restrictions of sex life and the heavy mental stress.
In such cases, or for aesthetic reasons, e.g. in case of asymmetries, it is recommended to have a labia correction done.
More about labiaplasty
An aesthetic labia correction makes it possible to surgically reduce internal labia that is too long. This procedure is called labia reduction or reduction plastic surgery. The structure of and slackened or weakly pronounced outer labia is called labia enlargement or Labiaaugmentation.

In labia enlargement, a labia correction is performed on the outer labia majora. These run from the mound to the perineum and cover and protect the labia minora, urethral opening and the vagina.

Possible risks of a lab correction

Infections of the wound areas and wound healing disorders are rare. The scars are initially red and visible, but usually fade to thin, white lines over the course of the months. In extreme cases, scarring can lead to restrictions of the urethra, which can be remedied by another, corrective intervention. Overall, the labia correction is a minimal, gentle procedure that runs safely and without complications.
